Holiday Chocolate Cake

In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together and set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together buttermilk, hot water, vegetable oil, sugar, and peppermint extract until smooth.

Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix on low until fully incorporated.

Toss in half a cup of semi sweet chocolate chips and gently mix.

Grease your Bundt pan and powder with cocoa powder, ensuring it gets into all the cracks.

Pour batter into the prepared pan about 3/4 full.

Bake at 350°F for 40 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with soft crumbs.

Let the cake cool out of the oven for 10 minutes, then turn over to release from the pan.

Allow the cake to cool for another 20 minutes before topping with ganache.

For the ganache, add chocolate chips to a medium heat-safe bowl.

Simmer heavy whipping cream in a saucepan, then pour over the chocolate chips and mix until smooth.
