These buttery and thin sugar cookies, infused with the zest of blood orange, offer a delightful flavor experience. With a blend of soft butter, sugar, and a hint of citrus, they are simply addictive. Topped with a sweet glaze, these cookies are perfect for any occasion.

What you need

1 ½ cup flour

1 tbsp blood orange juice

1 tbsp blood orange zest

1 pinch salt

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup powdered sugar

½ tsp baking soda

1 egg

½ tsp baking powder

8 tbsp butter

Instructions

1: In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and blood orange zest.

2: Cream together the soft butter and the sugar/orange zest mixture till light and fluffy.

3: Add the egg and cream again for about 3 minutes.

4: Add in the dry ingredients until just combined.

5: Scoop out 1.5 oz of cookie dough and roll it into the additional sugar and zest mixture.

6: Place 6 cookies on a cookie sheet.

7: Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.

8: For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, blood orange juice, and a pinch of salt until well combined and drizzle on top.
